A Love of Books That Became Reading by Candlelight
I'm Molly, the reader, candle maker and small business owner behind Reading by Candlelight.
Reading by Candlelight began in 2023 as an extension of my candle business, Molly's Cottage, with a simple idea: to pair Australian stories with candles inspired by them.
What started as a small idea has grown into a community built around discovering emerging Australian authors and creating a reading experience that goes beyond the book itself.
Each Reading by Candlelight selection is still personally curated by me here in Tasmania.

More Than Just the Book
Reading by Candlelight has always been about celebrating the people behind the things we love — from the authors who write the stories to the makers who help bring each collection together.
I work with small businesses and makers from around the country to find beautiful additions for our Book Boxes and annual Advent Calendar — from locally made treats and interesting beverages to handmade bookish pieces.
Wherever possible, I choose independent Australian businesses, giving each collection another opportunity to introduce you to someone new.
