Cancellation policy

Some products at Reading by Candlelight are offered as subscriptions or pre-orders. This policy explains how you can cancel or change these purchases.
Subscriptions
When you purchase a subscription, you will receive repeat deliveries according to the billing frequency you selected.
Your payment details are stored securely, and you will be charged for each renewal unless you cancel before the next billing date.
Billing & Renewal Charges
When you start a subscription, your first payment is charged immediately at checkout.
After that, all subscriptions renew on the 1st of each month, including monthly, seasonal prepaid, and annual prepaid plans.
- You will always be charged on the 1st of the month for your upcoming delivery cycle.
- If you subscribe after the current month’s box has sold out, your first box will be next month’s box, and your next renewal will still occur on the next 1st.
For prepaid plans:
- Seasonal (quarterly) prepaid plans are charged upfront and then renew on the 1st of the month when your annual cycle ends.
- Annual prepaid plans are charged upfront for 12 months and then renew on the 1st of the month following your subscription anniversary.
You can update your payment details or cancel future renewals any time through your customer portal.
Cancelling Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time before your next renewal.
If you cancel:
- before your next billing date → you will not be charged again
- after your renewal has processed → the charge still applies, and you will receive the box you paid for
Because our boxes are curated in small batches, refunds for processed subscription renewals are not available unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time using the link provided in your:
- order confirmation email
- subscription renewal email
- customer account dashboard

Pre-Orders
Some items — such as our Advent Calendar — are available as pre-orders.
A pre-order reserves an item that is out of stock or has a future ship date.
Depending on the product, you may:
- be charged in full at checkout, or
- pay a partial deposit and be charged the remaining balance when the item is ready to ship
Cancelling a Pre-Order
You may cancel a partially paid, unfulfilled pre-order at any time before it ships.
If the item has already shipped, it can no longer be cancelled, but you may be eligible for a refund depending on the situation.
